Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to implement the Supreme Court of Pakistan verdict on the PTI-SIC petitions over special seats.
The ECP meeting was held in chair of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja on Thursday (yesterday) and Friday (today) for considering implementation of the SC judgement on the special seats.
The meeting has decided to implement the SC decision. .
The ECP spokesperson said that the meeting condemned the criticism by a political party on the CEC and the ECP members and termed the resignation demand as hilarious.
The ECP without taking any pressure will continue performing its duties as per the constitution and the law, the spokesman added.
The ECP didn’t interpret any verdict wrongly adding that the ECP had not declared the PTI intra-party elections correct and the PTI went to various forums and the ECP decision were retained, the spokesman adds.
The spokesman said that the PTI intra party election was not right owing to which it was deprived of the bat election symbol, henceforth, allegations on the ECP are highly inappropriate.
