Abbasi Vows to Work Equal to 45 Months in Forty Five Days

Islamabad (August 1, 2017): The newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has thanked all the MNA’s,  who voted for him. He said that He believes that Nawaz Sharif would return to the PM slot again. 

Abbasi addressed the session of National Assembly today presided over by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq after he was elected.

In his first speech as the premier for 45 days, Abbasi said that he thanks all political parties across the board including the elements who mention his and his colleagues names in their routinely criticism.

” I am thankful even those parties, who contested election against me and helped to continue and complete the democratic process.

” I am greatly thankful of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who gave me the opportunity for this honorable post,” he said.

He said that 45 days or 45 hours, he was elected to work in the best interest of the state and its people and that is exactly what he would do.

He would work equal to that of 45 months in the 45 days that he has been given, Abbasi vowed.

The interim prime minister said that the government would make decisions, though difficult, but are needed. Abbasi said that if his cabinet would approve, he would take action against personal guards of VIPs for keeping automatic guns that only state-sanctioned law enforcers should possess.

PM Abbasi said that betterment in education sector, hospitals and to counter energy crisis among various challenges are what the government aims to address.

He said that the government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) restored peace in Karachi and now it was time to shift gears over development.

He defended the former prime minister by saying that even his political opponents would vouch for the alleged fact that Nawaz did not resort to illegal means, graft or corruption.

“All the parties including ANP, JI, PPP and other parties will also give evidence that Nawaz Sharif has never done corruption. His sin was to made the Pakistan nuclear power, economic power and he brought more than seven billion dollar investment to Pakistan,” Abbasi said.

“An unprecedented decision was taken last Friday. We accepted it though not agreed on it. We did not challenge the courts, there was no division in our ranks. The party stands as it was.

He urged everyone should give taxes and it will start from government ranks.

“The agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and there is need to improve it and despite a Zamindar I know the problems faced by the peasants,” he said.

“The issuance of health cards is one of the biggest projects in South Asia launched by the former Prime Minister,” he said.

Opposition candidate of PPP Naveed Qamar, who came second by securing 47 votes said in his address that persons not matters today but institutions should be made strong.

“We should make parliament center of all decisions and whenever we face any trouble we should consult parliament.
