Abbottabad tragedy: three children killed, mother critical, father unconscious

ABBOTTABAD: A tragic incident has shaken Abbottabad, where three young siblings were killed in an apparent domestic attack, while their mother sustained critical injuries and their father was found unconscious.

The incident occurred in the Kaghan Colony area. The deceased children have been identified as seven-year-old Ghaziyan, three-year-old Ayizal, and nine-month-old Shahram. Police confirmed that all three children died at the scene.

Authorities reported that the mother was severely injured and remains in critical condition at the hospital. The father was discovered unconscious and is currently unable to provide a statement. A Deputy Superintendent of Police said initial suspicions point toward the father’s possible involvement, though investigations are still underway due to his condition.

In a separate incident in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal neighborhood, police recovered the bodies of three women from a flat, while a man was found unconscious and taken to hospital.

The deceased were identified as 52-year-old Samina, her 22-year-old daughter Maha, and 19-year-old daughter-in-law Samreen. Police noted that one of the bodies appeared to be several days old. The unconscious man, identified as Yaseen, is receiving medical treatment.

Preliminary findings suggest that a toxic substance may have been involved.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the Karachi case and requested a detailed report from SSP East, directing authorities to ensure a transparent investigation and include medical findings and the man’s statement once possible.

Police crime scene units remain at the Karachi residence as multiple teams continue to examine evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
