AC Miran Shah among four martyrs in Bannu terrorist ambush

BANNU:  A convoy carrying Assistant Commissioner (AC) Miran Shah tehsil in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was ambushed, resulting in the martyrdom of four individuals, including the AC.

The assault took place on the Bannu-Miran Shah Road within the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station when terrorists targeted a police convoy. Among the deceased are Assistant Commissioner Shah Wali and a civilian.

DIG Sajjad Khan reported that three police officers were also wounded during the attack. Following the shooting, the terrorists set the vehicle ablaze. Prompt response from a large police contingent arrived at the scene to secure the area.

In a related development, Pakistani security forces claimed to have killed 22 India-backed militants during a targeted operation in Bannu district on November 25.

According to the ISPR, on November 24, 2025, security personnel launched an intelligence-driven raid in Bannu after receiving intelligence about the presence of Khwarij militants linked to Indian proxy groups, specifically Fitna al Khwarij (FAK).

During the operation, security forces engaged the militants in a fierce firefight, resulting in the death of 22 Khwarij members. A sanitization drive is ongoing to root out any remaining Indian-sponsored Khwarij militants in the area.
