ADB, Pakistan ink 320 million dollars agreement

Asian Development Bank of Pakistan has inked 320 million dollars agreement with Pakistan for micor hydro power projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and solar power projects in Punjab.

According to the agreement, the Asian Development Bank will provide 325 million dollars to Pakistan for micro hydro power projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and solar power projects in the Punjab. Agreements to this effect were signed in Islamabad in presence of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Under the agreements, 238 million dollars will be spent in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa while eighty seven million dollars in the Punjab.

The electricity generated through these projects will be supplied to schools and health facilities in both the provinces.

On this eve, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that ADB, along with other development partners have offered important services for the economic development of Pakistan. While praising the cooperation of ADB in energy and infrastructure projects, Ishaq Dar said that energy projects are top priorities of the government.

On this eve the Bank’s country directer Warner Lee Pack said that the significant aspect of the project is that the project is for the public and 3.7 million students will benefit from the project.
