ISLAMABAD: High Court summoned the Superintendent Adiala Jail in person on a contempt of court petition against him for not allowing PTI founding father Imran Khan to meet his wife Bushra Bibi despite court order.
Acting Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Sarfraz Dogar, heard the case, while Faisal Chaudhry, the lawyer representing Imran Khan, appeared before the court.
The lawyer argued that the court order regarding the meeting with Imran Khan has still not been implemented. On January 28th, the jail superintendent had stated in court that Imran Khan had met with Bushra Bibi. Despite the jail superintendent’s statement, the meeting is not being facilitated.
The court issued remarks directing the State Council, asking why its order hadn’t been followed. The law officer is to ensure the implementation of this order.
The court summoned the Superintendent of Adiala Jail in person and adjourned the hearing until February 27th.
