Adil Raja issues public apology to brigadier (Retd) Rashid Naseer following defamation ruling

LONDON: YouTuber Adil Raja has issued a formal apology to Brigadier (Retd) Rashid Naseer after a London court found him guilty of defamation and ordered him to pay damages.

In a statement to the media, Raja acknowledged that the court mandated him to pay £50,000 in compensation to Brigadier Naseer. Additionally, the court imposed legal costs amounting to £260,000 on him.

Raja admitted that, between June 14 and June 29, 2022, he made a series of allegations against Brigadier (Retd) Rashid Naseer, which the court determined to be false and damaging to his reputation.

He confessed that he was unable to substantiate the claims he made against the retired brigadier and accepted the court’s verdict.

It is noteworthy that Brigadier (Retd) Rashid Naseer had filed a defamation lawsuit in the UK, which he successfully won, resulting in this judgment in his favor.

As part of the court’s order, Raja is required to publish a public apology across all his social media platforms including X, Facebook, YouTube, and his personal website for a period of 28 days, ensuring the apology remains prominently visible.
