Rawalpindi: Four policemen have been sacked from their jobs after an inquiry over an inmate murder in the cell of psychiatric patients cell in Adyala jail .
The police men who were shown the doors are ex-deputy superintendent Adyala jail Muhammad Akram, Assistant Superintendent Riyaz Khan and two warders.
Whereas their notification of termination also has been issued.
Secretary home department Noor-ul-Ameen Mengal under the light of an official inquiry sacked former deputy Superintendent of prison Muhammad Akram, officer in-charge psychiatric ward, assistant superintendent of jail Riyaz Khan , warder Nasir Mahmood, warder Ameer Abass have been terminated from their services.
The inquiry started on the orders of Inspector General (IG) prison over a killing of jail inmate in the psychiatric cell of prison on February 29.
Seven police personnel including the four sacked cop were declared responsible for the killing of jail inmate while the four of them recommended termination.
Under the inquiry, police personnel were issued show-cause notices for explanation on August 30 .
Following the inquiry recommendation, the four of them fired from their jobs while night duty officer assistant superintendent Mahmood Ul Hassan was given punishment of confiscation of two years of his service.
While head warder Wajid Mahmood was given sentence of confiscation of one year of his service.
