Afghan national arrested after man stabbed to death and two people injured in London

WEB DESK: An Afghan national has been taken into custody following a fatal stabbing in west London, which left one man dead and two others, including a 14-year-old boy, injured in what police have described as a “senseless act of violence.”

The victim, a 49-year-old man, received treatment at the scene but tragically succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified locally as Wayne Broadhurst. Another man, aged 45, sustained life-altering injuries, while the teenager’s injuries were confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing, according to police reports.

Authorities stated that the incident is not being treated as an act of terrorism. Detectives are investigating whether there was any connection between the suspect and the three victims.

The arrested individual is an Afghan national who entered the UK via a lorry in 2020, as verified by the Home Office. After arriving in the country, he sought asylum and was granted it in 2022.

Officials also clarified that the man is not residing in any government-provided accommodation, such as asylum hotels, contrary to claims circulating on social media
