Afghan social media posts before Islamabad court explosion spark security concerns

ISLAMABAD: Prior to the Islamabad court blast, social media posts originating from Afghanistan have sparked numerous questions and concerns.

The explosion at Islamabad’s district courts occurred around 12:45 PM in the afternoon, but social media accounts linked to Afghanistan had been circulating ominous messages since early morning. According to sources, posts from a Taliban-associated account named Khorasan Araby reflected sinister intentions ahead of the attack. At 6:45 AM, a post was seen from a linked account saying, “coming soon Islamabad.”

Similar threatening messages were also posted during the Afghan military parade, where plans to hoist the Afghan flag over Lahore and set Islamabad ablaze were discussed.

Sources indicate that the Afghan Twitter account “Amaaj News” had shared these threatening messages in a post dated November 2.

It is further believed that the recent bombings in Islamabad and New Delhi are the result of collusion between hostile foreign nations aiming to damage Pakistan’s stability and security.
