Ahmedabad: Days after a hoax bomb threat was received by schools in Delhi and its surrounding areas, several schools in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad also received similar threat emails on Monday.
According to Lavina Sinha, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Cyber Crime Ahmedabad, as many as seven and eight schools in Ahmedabad have received the warning emails.
According to the Indian media report, The schools that received such emails are – Asia School in Gurukul, Anand Niketan in Thaltej, DPS Bopal, HBK School in Memnagar, Zebar School in Thaltej and Cosmos Castle International School on SG road.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an official statement saying that the email appeared to be a ‘hoax’. “There is no need to panic. The mail appears to be a hoax. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol.
After recent hoax bomb threats that targeted multiple schools in the Delhi-NCR region, security forces have intensified their preparedness through a series of mock drills across various key locations in the city, including schools, airports, metro stations, and government buildings, said officials.
