Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has taken major step by opening 80 cases against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari and other politicians after the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) rejected amendments in the NAB ordinance conducted by the PML-N led PDM coalition government.
The NAB has written a letter to the registrar of the accountability court of Islamabad regarding restoration of the cases.
Sources said that fake accounts cases against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Zardari have reopened, whereas a rental power case against former speaker National Assembly (NA) Raja Pervez Asharaf has also opened.
The cases registered against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari and Yousuf Raza Gillani for buying cheap vechicles from toshakhana will reopen.
Besides that the cases against former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbassi and former chief minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah have been restored.
Moreover, the case shut down against former finance minister Ishaq Dar for earning beyond resources has also been opened.
It is likely that the NAB will provide record of the cases to the accountability court tomorrow.
