AGP acted as PM’s counsel: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday said that Attorney General for Pakistan wants the bench hearing Panama case should not disqualify the Prime Minister, but the very movement the bench it had no powers to give verdict on the instant matter.

Talking to media outside Supreme Court after Panama Leaks case hearing, Chaudhry said that the AGP Ashtar Ausaf was giving argument like the Prime Minister’s counsel.  The AGP wanted the SC not to disqualify the Prime Minister but telling the court it can’t give decision on the instant matter.

He said that the AGP told the court that Hudaibia accounts were used to pay off debts. He added that Hudaibia’s importance was due to Ishaq Dar’s confessional statement.

He added that half of the revelations made during Panama case was admitted by Sharif family which was part of court record.

Talking to media, Arif Alvi said that the constitution of 1962 was being used to save Nawaz Sahrif in the Panama case. He also criticized AGP Ashtar Ausaf.
