AIDS Spreading Rapidly in Teen Girls: UNICEF

Web Desk (August 01, 2018): UNICEF warned that due to lack of information and sexual assaults, HIV virus is spreading rapidly, especially in teenage girls and every one of three teenage girls, is getting infected with the virus.

UNICEF, an organization working for the welfare of children, has published a report on HIV last week. It is warned in the reports that every one of the three girls between 15-19 years age is being infected with this virus. It said the epidemic’s spread among adolescent girls is being fueled by rape in early ages, including with older men, forced sexual assault, poverty and lack of access to confidential counseling and testing services.نیویارک: یونیسیف کی بچوں کی تعلیم کیلئے امداد کی اپیلHenrietta Fore, executive director of UNICEF said that HIV thrives among the most vulnerable and marginalized, leaving teenage girls at the center of the crisis. AIDS-related deaths among all other age groups have been falling since 2010, those among older adolescents aged 15 to 19 have seen no reduction.

Previously, in 2017 about 1.2 million teenagers were infected from HIV virus, while three of the five AIDS affected people were girls.
