AJK PM Faisal Mumtaz Rathore chairs inaugural cabinet meeting, promises swift reforms, transparent governance

MUZAFFARABAD: Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, led his first cabinet session on Friday, emphasizing a commitment to transparency, efficiency, and restoring public trust. 

During the meeting in Muzaffarabad, Rathore welcomed PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and expressed appreciation to President Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Faryal Talpur for their support and confidence in his leadership. 

He praised the federal government’s recent decision to establish Danish Schools in AJK, viewing it as a crucial step toward enhancing educational access in the region. “Our goal is to accelerate progress without delay,” Rathore declared, vowing that pending issues from the previous administration would now be addressed with urgency. He committed to implementing good governance practices and making decisions that serve the entire society. 

Highlighting the importance of reconnecting with the people, Rathore stated, “The distance between us and the public has widened. Restoring their faith is a challenge, but with the cabinet’s cooperation, we will move forward positively.” 

He instructed that ministry allocations be prioritized to avoid any wastage of time, ensuring swift action on key initiatives. 

Additionally, Rathore paid tribute to security personnel for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and honored the martyrs associated with the Kashmir freedom movement.
