Pakistan’s veteran Aleem Dar was presented a guard of honour by players of Bangladesh and Ireland players after he officiated in his final Test match as an ICC Elite Panel umpire.
Videos shared on social media show the players of the both teams lined up to pay honour to Mr Dar who exited from the elite panel after 19 years.
During his last match as umpire, Bangladesh defeated Ireland by seven wickets in their one-off test on Friday, comfortably chasing down the 138 runs needed for victory on the fourth day in Mirpur after an inspired fightback by the touring side a day earlier.
Social media users also paid tribute to the legendary umpire as curtains fall on his celebrated career.
