Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged a ban in Sindh High Court (SHC) on its Chief Imran Khan’s live coverage on news channels.
The PTI leader Ali Zaidi has filed the constitutional petition against the live coverage of the PTI chief Imran Khan in the SHC.
Former minister maritime affairs, Ali Zaidi filed the constitutional petition through Amir Somro advocate.
The petition filed in the SHC, opined that the ban on a live coverage is tantamount to ban on freedom of expreseion.
Ali Zaidi counsel insisted the court to declare August 20 notificaion of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulation Authority (PEMRA) as illegal.
The petition has made ministry of information and broadcasting, Chairman PEMRA and PBA as respondents
