Robbers involved in bank robbery in Karachi’s district central area arrested with looted amount

Karachi: Karachi police have made progress in an investigation of the bank robbery in Shadman area of the district central yesterday as Karachi police chief Khadim Hussain Rind apprised that all the five robbers involved in the robbery in the district central area of Shadman number 3 have been arrested.

The Police chief apprised that looted amount of Rs 8 million has been recovered from the possession of the robbers.

The police sources said that the muggers were arrested from Sindh and Punjab.

It is pertinent to inform that yesterday interim home minister Sindh Harris Nawaz had issued deadline for arresting the robbers while he also announced that strict action will be taken against police.

The police chief said that Inspector General Sindh Riffat Mukhtar has announced a price of Rs one million for the police party for arresting the robbers in less time and with recovered looted money.

The robbers identified as Ishaq, Siddiq, Abdul Ghafar, Mansoor Imran, he apprised. While Ishaq and Ghaffar had conducted a recce of the bank one day ago.

He said that they dacoits entered the bank owing to negligence of the guard of the bank while the robbers have looted a whopping sum of Rs 8.7 million from the bank.

He further informed that they have run away after snatching a repeater of the bank guard. Whereas the muggers have made the bank staff and the guard hostage on the force of their guns.

The chief apprised the case in the limits of Shahra-e-Noor Jehan police station has been solved in 12 hours time.
