LAHORE: In the Mazang area of Lahore, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the police died due to alleged assault by lawyers.
According to the police, ASI Shahid and police officer Jameel Jain went to arrest a wanted criminal near the Jain Mandir, where, during the arrest, lawyers allegedly attacked them.
The police stated that due to the alleged assault by the lawyers, ASI Shahid’s condition worsened, and he passed away after being taken to the hospital.
The police have gathered evidence and started searching for the suspects. Punjab IG Dr. Usman Anwar has ordered the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
