Colombo: Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has reappointed Harini Amarasuriya as the Prime Minister of the Indian Ocean island nation on Monday.
This decision marks a continuation of Amarasuriya’s leadership role in Sri Lanka’s government.
Dissanayake’s coalition won 159 seats in general elections, a dramatic jump from the three seats his party held earlier.
However, that commanding majority may still not be enough to steer Sri Lanka along the path he has promised.
