LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Siraj-ul-Haq has resign his post, due to failure in the general election.
Siraj-ul-Haq Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami has resigned from the post, Siraj-ul-Haq wrote on his Twitter that he has resigned from the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami, accepting responsibility for the defeat in the election.
The resignation sent to Jamaat-e-Islami, Siraj-ul-Haq has said that despite efforts and hard work, the Jamaat could not win the elections.
Therefore, he think that it is not appropriate to take on any further responsibility. Therefore, he resign from my post. The Election Commission of Jamaat-e-Islami has already given the schedule of the elections on the completion of the term of the Emirate a day ago. So now the party members should choose the new Amir.
It should be noted that Sirajul Haq was first elected as Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in March 2014, Sirajul Haq was serving as a senior minister in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government when he was elected as the Jamaat Ameer. He left the ministry after being elected Amir.
His opponents in this election were Syed Manwar Hassan and Liaquat Baloch. He was elected for a second term in 2019
