ISLAMABAD: Amir Khan has assumed charge of Chairman of Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) after the government approved his appointment on the post in the last cabinet meeting.

Amir Khan was serving as an overseer commissioner of SECP’s company law division (corporate supervision), specialized companies division and information system and technology before taking charge of the Chairman SECP.

He has more than 30 years experience of corporate banking, financial product, capital market and regulatory reforms while he has been on Executive Director role in the SECP Since 2012. In the same period, he remained head of major operational departments of the SECP which included specialized companies division, security market surveillance division, commodities market department, department of international relations.

Amir also served as Chief Spokesman of the SECP while the incumbent had appointed him as a commissioner in the SECP.
