Islamabad: The annual national Seerat Un Nabi (PHUH) conference is underway in the convention center Islamabad.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is chief guest of the conference while Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain are also in attendance.
Addressing the conference Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has emphasized the need for formulating the country’s education system in the light of Seerat un Nabi (SAWW).
Addressing the annual National Seerat Conference in Islamabad today, he emphasized the need for a coordinated education system that provides both religious and worldly education to our people.
He asked the Ministry of Religious Affairs to furnish comprehensive recommendations in this regard after engagement with the Education Ministry and the religious scholars.
Ishaq Dar said our education system should focus on equipping students not only with academic skills but also with strong moral values based on Islamic principles.
Expressing concerns over the moral decline observed on social media, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that education should prioritize character development and strong ethical values.
He said the religious scholars, educational institutions and other segments of the society will have to play their role in this regard.
Quoting from Holy Quran and Hadiths, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Islam lays great emphasis on education. He said acquiring education is a religious duty and recognized that it is government’s responsibility to provide opportunities of education to the people.
Alluding to the technological advancements, the Deputy Prime Minister said we will have to provide modern scientific knowledge to the youth so that our country could compete with the developed world.
In his remarks on the occasion, Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), was not only a spiritual leader but also a great teacher.
He said by following the teachings of the last Prophet, a well-balanced and an educated society can be established.
