WEB DESK: Awami National Party (ANP) has formally demanded the resignation of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman, accusing him of demonstrating a lack of competence and inadequate understanding of critical telecom reforms and technical matters.
In a statement issued by an ANP spokesperson, it was highlighted that the PTA Chairman failed to provide satisfactory answers to questions posed by party leader Aimal Wali Khan during a recent parliamentary committee session.
The spokesperson criticized his lack of preparation and unprofessional demeanor, which raised concerns about his suitability for the role.
The ANP emphasized the importance of appointing leadership in key government departments, including the PTA, based on merit and expertise to ensure effective governance and progress in the telecommunications sector.
Party urged the federal government to take swift action to replace the current chairman with a more qualified and reform-oriented individual to better serve national development goals.
