APS attack anniversary; PM, President vow to continue relentless operation against terrorism

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have reaffirmed the government’s determination to eradicate terrorism, emphasizing that there is no tolerance for terrorists or their collaborators.

In a separate message, President Zardari stated that Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism remains unwavering. He stressed that no compromise or negotiations can be made with those who turn arms against the state or target its children. This message coincided with the 11th anniversary of the APS Peshawar tragedy.

He highlighted that the memory of the APS martyrs continues to strengthen the nation’s resolve, assuring that Pakistan will not allow adversaries of peace to succeed. Expressing solidarity with the grieving families, he acknowledged their courage in facing this immense loss and said the nation will always honor their resilience, which has transformed grief into strength for Pakistan. The president also strongly denounced acts of terrorism allegedly sponsored by India.

Additionally, the president paid tribute to the security forces, law enforcement agencies, and intelligence personnel for their tireless efforts in preventing further such tragedies.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on the same occasion, reiterated his administration’s commitment to a steadfast zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. He emphasized that the fight against extremism would continue with full force until this menace is completely eradicated.

In his message honoring the victims of the Army Public School Peshawar attack, he praised the sacrifices made for Pakistan’s brighter future, stressing that these sacrifices will not be in vain. He assured that the state, security institutions, and citizens stand united and determined in this fight against terrorism.

Reflecting on the tragic incident, he expressed deep sorrow, noting that while it greatly saddened the nation, it also reinforced their resolve. The prime minister extended his support to the grieving families of the martyrs and saluted their patience and remarkable resilience during this profound ordeal.
