Arab League Condemns Atrocities Against Muslims in Myanmar

Cairo (September 8, 2017): Arab League has condemned the atrocities against the minority Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

In a press statement, the Arab League demanded of the Myanmar government to stop escalation of violence against Muslims as soon as possible.

Arab League Secretary General Aboul-Gheit urged the authorities to investigate violations committed against Rohingya Muslims and hold those responsible accountable, referring to reports, including that of the United Nations, which raised the concerns of Arab and Muslim people.

Media reports said violence erupted in Myanmar’s Rakhine state on 25th August when security forces launched an operation against the Rohingya Muslim community.
