Arguments seeking a petition against the PECA Amendment Act

KARACHI: Sindh High Court has sought arguments against the PECA Amendment Act 2025.

Petition was heard against a two -member bench headed by Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui against the PECA Amendment Act 2025, in which the petitioner’s lawyer submitted that the petition was given to two clauses 2 and 26A of the Amendment Act 2025 has been challenged.

According to the applicant, Article 19 and 19A of the Article Amendment Act 2025 of the Amendment Act 2025 is a violation of Article 19 and 19A, Section 2R included in the PECA Amendment Act 2025 is completely unconstitutional and the fundamental given in the country’s constitution against rights.

Petition filed in the Sindh High Court states that Article 26A of the PECA Amendment Act 2025 declares the transmission and acquisition of information as false and fake.

Article 19 and 19A of the Constitution are appropriate to every citizen of the country. Gives complete freedom of expression in the limits, PECA Amendment Act 2025’s Section G and H are very vaguely used in the words of False, Fakes.

Chief Justice Mohammad Shafi Siddiqui remarked, first court should satisfy whether the petition was a hearing.

Later, the Sindh High Court adjourned the hearing till Monday, seeking further arguments on the petition against the PECA Amendment Act 2025.
