WEB DESK: Armenia has decided against purchasing the Tejas fighter aircraft following the Dubai crash incident.
This decision is expected to cause significant financial losses for the Israeli aerospace industry, which supplies core systems and radar technology for the Tejas jets.
Armenia halted negotiations after an Indian Tejas aircraft crashed during the Dubai Air Show, claiming the life of the pilot involved.
According to international reports, Armenia had been in talks with India for the acquisition of 12 Tejas fighter jets valued at $2 billion. If finalized, this would have marked Tejas’ first substantial export deal.
The cancellation has added to the financial strain on Israel Aerospace Industries, which plays a key role in manufacturing critical components for the aircraft. Due to safety concerns raised by the incident on November 21, Armenia deferred its decision on moving forward with the purchase.
