WEB DESK: Pakistani anchor Waseem Badami and comedian Shafa’at Ali once again entertained audience with their humorous takedown of Indian media star Arnab Goswami and defense analyst General Bakshi. The duo’s witty banter highlighted the exaggerated and often hysterical style of Arnab, who is notorious for his fiery reactions and sensational reporting.
In the recent India-Pakistan tensions, Indian media was criticized for spreading misinformation with audacity, leading even Indian viewers to voice their disapproval. In contrast, Pakistani media maintained a responsible approach, focusing on credible news and earning praise from the Pakistani public.
Among Indian media figures, Arnab Goswami’s name became synonymous with sensationalism. His reactive style—often foaming at the mouth—has earned him a reputation for losing composure whenever Pakistan is mentioned. His reporting was marked by a disregard for journalistic standards, with unilateral claims and aggressive tone, as if urging the Indian government to escalate tensions unnecessarily.
When news of a ceasefire emerged, Arnab refused to accept it, questioning the legitimacy of US involvement and demanding answers, refusing to acknowledge the peace efforts. Meanwhile, another contentious figure in Indian media, retired General Bakshi, often displayed overt hostility and resentment toward Pakistan, sometimes undermining diplomatic efforts.
During a humorous segment, Waseem Badami mocked Arnab and Bakshi. Shafa’at Ali mimicked Arnab’s signature style—foaming at the mouth and gesticulating wildly—much to viewers’ amusement. Waseem quipped, “Arnab, the people only see you as a joke,” provoking an angry retort from Arnab: “I won’t dignify your nonsense with a response.”
When Arnab invited General Bakshi onto the stage, sirens of war seemed to echo, and Bakshi began making gun gestures and jumping around in mock hostility. Waseem sarcastically told him, “Brother, relax—no war is happening here; you’ve already lost the battle of diplomacy.”
Arnab then inquired about Karachi’s situation, to which Bakshi claimed, “We have captured Gulistan-e-Jauhar,” prompting Waseem to quip, “If you’re in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, then stay there—don’t come near Pehlwan Goth!” The lighthearted jibe left viewers in stitches, showcasing how humor can effectively highlight serious issues.
This playful banter is yet another witty response to India.
