WEB DESK: Anti-Terrorism Court of Sargodha has issued an arrest warrant for opposition leader National Assembly Umar Ayub for non-appearance in the May 9 vandalism case.
Anti-terrorism court of Sargodha heard the riot and vandalism case in Mianwali on May 9. ATC judge Muhammad Naeem Sheikh heard the case. During the hearing of the case, strict security arrangements were made around the court.
Dozens of activists named in the case, including opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Ahmed Khan Bhachar, Sanam Javed, Alia Hamza, MNA Bilal Ejaz, appeared in the court. His medical certificate was presented in the court.
Expressing indignation at the non-appearance of Umar Ayub, the court said in remarks that Umar Ayub Khan did not appear in the court for three consecutive appearances.
Due to the non-appearance of the opposition leader, the other accused could not be charged, the court issued the arrest warrant of senior PTI leader Umar Ayub.
Later, the court adjourned the further hearing of the riot and vandalism case in Mianwali on May 9 to January 30.
