Lahore: For the first time in the history of Pakistan, Artificial rain was showered in Lahore with associated United Arab Emirates (UAE)
According to the sources, Artificial rain showered in Lahore as a gift from the Emirati government, for the first time in the history of the country artificial rain was tested and water was sprinkled in 10 areas of Lahore to reduce smog.
The clouds were kept waiting for 10 to 12 days for artificial rain, 48 flares were fired on the clouds and chemicals were sprayed by 2 special planes, after while the clouds thundered and rained heavily.
In this regard, caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi said that the artificial rain was sent as a gift by the UAE government, the second flight will be held after some time.
On the other hand, according to sources, the aircraft used for artificial rain is Beechcraft King Air C90 model, this American-made aircraft is owned by Emirates Air Force.
Sources said that the 2-engine and 6-carriage aircraft is capable of lifting 500 kg. The aircraft took off today for cloud seeding in Lahore and Sheikhupura areas, and the aircraft also continued cloud seeding in Gujranwala, Mor Aymanabad and Kamonki areas.
