ISLAMABAD: Former speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser stated that his party does not intend to disrupt the SCO Conference in Islamabad.
“We have concerns about the health of the PTI’s founder, as no doctor has been sent to attend to him. We also seek to maintain communication between the party leaders and the chairman,” Asad Qaiser remarked.
It’s worth noting that the PTI has planned a protest on October 15 during the SCO summit in the federal capital.
The PTI leader accused the government of employing coercive tactics to secure votes for proposed constitutional amendments. “The government’s actions are unacceptable,” he stated.
“We do not oppose the legislation itself, but we will not accept any legislation imposed forcefully,” he added.
Pakistan is set to host the 23rd meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states on October 15-16, 2024, in Islamabad.
The SCO member states will be represented by the prime ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with the First Vice President of Iran and the External Affairs Minister of India.
