LAHORE: Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council Condemned recent Terrorism in Quetta and has called for strong measures against Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA)
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday at the Lahore Press Club, Ashrafi strongly condemned the recent wave of terrorism in Quetta, which claimed the lives of several innocent Pakistanis. He emphasized that “terrorists have no loyalty to any province or community,” asserting that the BLA operates with foreign backing aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.
Ashrafi further highlighted that the attackers involved in the recent suicide bombing equipped with American-made weapons, equipment, and uniforms that left behind in Afghanistan after the US withdrawal. He urged the Pakistani government to take decisive action to eliminate these external and internal threats.
The Ulema Council Chairman also took aim at those who glorify violent actors under the guise of defending Balochistan’s rights. “How long will we allow those who kill innocent people to be celebrate as heroes?” Ashrafi questioned, stressing that such narratives only harm the national interest. He cautioned against framing terrorists as champions of the ‘missing persons’ issue, warning that this perspective undermines Pakistan’s unity and security
