KARACHI: Processions were held in different cities of the country on the occasion of 10th Muharram.
The Ashura procession in Karachi passed through its traditional routes under tight security and ended at the ancient Iranian Imambargah Kharadar.
During the procession, intermittent aerial surveillance continued. Rangers police sharp shooters were also stationed on the buildings. The bomb disposal squad also checked the corridors before the procession was recovered.
Central mourning ceremony was held, in which Maulana Emperor Naqvi highlighted the incident of Karbala and the eternal sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala.
