ABU DHABI: In the opening match of Asia Cup 2025, Afghanistan set a target of 189 runs for Hong Kong to win.
The match is being played in Abu Dhabi, where Afghanistan’s captain Rashid Khan won the toss and opted to bat first. Afghanistan scored a competitive total of 188 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs, thanks to excellent batting by Sediqullah and Azmatullah.
It is worth noting that both teams are part of Group B in the Asia Cup.Earlier on Tuesday, ACC President Mohsin Naqvi unveiled the glittering trophy for the tournament.The Pakistan team will kick off their campaign on Friday against Oman.
