NOIDA: India is set to mark a significant milestone in its aviation sector as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to inaugurate the Noida International Airport on March 28, 2026.
Located in Greater Noida, the new airport is poised to become one of Asia’s largest aviation hubs. It is expected to play a key role in easing pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport while significantly improving connectivity across the region.
Budget carrier IndiGo will lead operations as the launch airline, with Akasa Air and Air India Express also preparing to begin services from the new facility.
Authorities have confirmed that the airport has secured all necessary regulatory approvals. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has granted clearance for passenger and cargo operations, while the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has issued the aerodrome licence, certifying that the airport meets required safety and operational standards.
With its launch, the Noida International Airport is expected to strengthen India’s aviation infrastructure, support economic growth, and provide travelers with a modern alternative in the National Capital Region.
