Pakistan’s spinner Asif Afridi has set a remarkable milestone by breaking a 92-year-old record.

At the age of 38 years and 299 days, Afridi became the oldest cricketer to claim a five-wicket haul on debut during the Rawalpindi Test against South Africa. He achieved this feat by dismissing five players for just 47 runs in 26 overs.

Previously, England’s Charles Marriott held the record since 1933, taking five wickets on debut at 37 years and 332 days old. Afridi has now rewritten history with his exceptional performance.

In the match, Pakistan’s batting lineup was dismissed for 333 runs in their first innings. South Africa responded strongly, scoring 404 and gaining a lead of 71 runs over the home team.
