Islamabad: Daughter of President Asif Ali Zardari and young sister of Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Asifa Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday raised crisis of gas and loadshedding in the upper house of the parliament.
During a question hours, Asif Bhutto Zardari questioned on load shedding and intensive crisis of gas.
To which Minister petroleum Musadiq Malik apprised that the government is calling international gas and petroleum companies to search oil and gas under the sea.
The Minister said that it is our assumption that there are lot of reservoirs of gas in the sea while he said that negotiations are continued with the foreign companies.
The Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik told the house during question hour that the government is taking measures to improve supplies which include awarding new blocks for oil and gas exploration and import of LNG.
He said a package has been prepared to encourage domestic and international companies for offshore exploration of oil and gas.
He said the oil and gas exploration companies have also been directed to optimize the existing resources.
