Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has approved mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar petition to grant him immunity for appearing before the court in May 12 2007 carnage case while the court also reserved the judgment for the bail of 13 more accused in the case.
Hearing of nine cases regarding May 12 carnage was held in the ATC while the mayor Karachi also appeared before the court.
The court asked the mayor why you appeared before the court when bails petitions of other accused were being heard.
“You should serve the city and don’t come to court” the court said to the Mayor. The mayor opined that the accused were employees of fire brigade and have been suspended and they were not getting their salaries as well.
The court instructed the mayor to concentrate on his work.
