Karachi: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday approved a plea to transfer Nazim Jokhio murder case from the ATC to a session court while a MNA and MPA of ruling partner in the coalition government at the center, PPP were also nominated in the case.
The hearing of Nazim Jokhio murder cases was held at ATC.
The counsels of accused contended that terrorism related articles are not applicable in the Nazim Jokhio murder case.
Prosecution, platiff of the case, wife of Nazim Jokhio and investigating officer also agreed to the point of the view of the accused counsels.
To which, the court approved the transfer of the case to a session court while the court said that the session court will decide to remove the names of the accused from the challan of the case whether or not.
The court also ordered the investiating officer of the case to present the challan of the case in the session court.
It is pertinent to mention here that the investigating officer of the case had submitted the challan of the case in the court of administrative judge of the anti-terrorism court.
However, PPP MNA, Jam Kareem and MPA Jam Owais and 8 other accused names were removed from the challan.
