Islamabad: An anti-terrorism court of Islamabad has sentenced to death three persons after they found involved in spread of blasphemous content on social media.
Judge of the ATC Islamabad Raja Jawad Abbass announcing verdict of spread of blasphemous content on social media case awarded death sentence to three accused, Nasir Ahmed, Abdul Waheed and Rana Noman.
The court also awarded 10 year imprisonment to another accused Anwar Ahmed and fined him Rs 0.1 million.
In its verdict the court said that the prosecution succeeded to prove its case and accused found guilty of their crime.
The ATC also issued permanent non-bailable arrest warrant of proclaimed offenders namely Tayeb Sardar, Rao Qaiser Shahzad, Faraz Pervez and Pervez Iqbal.
The case has been under trial in the ATC for four years while the court completed the trial on December 15 last year and had reserved the verdict on the same day.
