ISLAMABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court has approved two days physical remand of senior Journalist Matiullah Jan in connection with a case filed at the Margalla Police Station.
The decision was made by Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, who announced the reserved verdict. While the police had requested a 30-day remand, the court approved a two-day physical remand for Matiullah Jan.
Earlier today, Matiullah Jan, a well-known Pakistani journalist, was arrested in Islamabad, and a case was registered against him at the Margalla Police Station.
According to the FIR, the driver allegedly attempted to run over police personnel who had signaled him to stop. The driver reportedly accelerated the vehicle towards the officers intentionally, endangering their lives.
