ATC issues eighth non-bailable arrest warrant against Aleema Khan

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has issued its eighth non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan.

The warrant, related to the Sadiqabad police case, comes after Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder Imran Khan, repeatedly failed to attend court hearings.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah issued the order, highlighting her continued non-compliance despite multiple warrants. During the proceedings, a report was presented concerning the freezing of her bank accounts.

Prosecutors informed the court that Aleema Khan has been intentionally avoiding legal proceedings, hindering the judicial process, and causing delays in the trial. The court criticized her behavior, terming it a deliberate undermining of the justice system.

Additionally, the ATC instructed authorities to gather complete details of Aleema Khan’s movable and immovable assets. It also called for the seizure of her properties in the next phase of the case. Relevant officials, including the Chairman of CDA, Islamabad Commissioner, and Chairman SECP, were ordered to provide records of any companies or shares registered in her name.

The trial faced further delays as the absence of both the accused and her legal representation prevented the recording of witness testimonies.
