ATC issues non-bailable warrants for Shibli Faraz, PTI leaders in court vandalism cases

ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for PTI leaders, including Senator Shibli Faraz, along with Tahir Sadiq and Ali Nawaz Awan, over incidents of vandalism and rioting during Imran Khan’s court appearance.

The warrants, linked to case number 153 registered at Ramna Police Station, were issued by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra. The court also requested the Interior Ministry to submit a report concerning Imran Khan’s nephew, Hassan Niazi, and sent a letter regarding matters related to PTI founder Imran Khan.

Previously, PTI figures Murad Saeed and Hammad Azhar have been declared proclaimed offenders in the same case. The hearing was adjourned until November 1, 2025.

In a related development, an ATC in Rawalpindi issued non-bailable warrants for 18 PTI leaders, including KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, for their absence in connection with the November 26 protest case. The court directed police to arrest the accused and produce them by August 8, 2025, citing efforts to evade arrest.

The court also summoned the investigation officer and relevant records to continue proceedings amid concerns over the suspects’ disappearance.
