Lahore: An anti terrorism court of Lahore on Monday indicted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Senator Aijaz Chaudhry including 21 others accused in the planning May 9 related case.
The trial for the planning of May 9 case registered at Police Station Race Course was held at Kot Lakhpath jail in Lahore.
The ATC Admin Judge Manzar Ali Gul held the hearing of the case.
The court indicted Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Aijaz Chaudhry, former governor Punjab Umar Sarfaraz Cheema including 21 others accused.
After the indication in the case the court has summoned eye witnesses on the next hearing.
It is merit to mention that the PTI had resorted to violent protest across the country after the arrest of Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9, 2023.
The PTI charged workers vandalized and torched the military installations and the government buildings as well as private installations and incurred heavy loses to the government and private properties.
Moreover the violent protest claimed lives of eight people and 290 injured.
