Lahore: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday issued detailed verdict of the horrific murder of Sri-Lankan citizen Priyantha Kumara in Sialkot last year.
The ATC Lahore Judge released detailed written verdict containing 89 pages of the Priyantha Kumara murder case. The court has given references of Hadith.
The written verdict reads that Priyantha Kumara was murdered by three convicts by hitting him his head with bricks and two convicts dragged Sri Lankan man dead from roof.
The court has given five years’ jail to one, and two-year sentences to 72, according to a statement from the public prosecutor. Eight of those sentenced were juveniles.
Priyantha Kumara was killed in December by workers at a sports equipment factory in Pakistan’s eastern Sialkot district where he was a manager.
The written statement apprised that as per the eyewitness Priyantha Kumara was not aware of the religious sticker and also didn’t know what is written on the religious sticker.
The court ordered to release accused Nadeem due to benefit of doubt adding that the court didn’t find any evidence against accused Nadeem so ordered his release.
The court also has congratulated all the team included prosecution.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ATC had awarded death sentence to six convicts and life imprisonment to nine.
