Islamabad (October 28, 2017): Opposition leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Saturday said that attack on senior journalist Ahmed Noorani could be reaction of different things but whatever has happened they condemned it.
Shah visited Ahmad Noorani at PIMS hospital where he is being treated for injuries he received in assault by six people yesterday.
Shah condemned the attack on Noorani and called on the government and authorities to catch the culprits immediately.
“The [attack] is regrettable. Such incidents must not be tolerated any further,” said Shah. He said that if the journalist had grabbed any plot then that should be made public.
He said that he was raising the supposition voice.
The opposition leader said Ahmad Noorani always stood up for truth. “The truth cannot be silenced by [such violence],” he added.
The senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader was accompanied by PPP senator Rubina Khalid during his visit.
Earlier, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also visited PIMS to enquire about Noorani’s health. The party chief condemned the attack and said there is a need to protect journalists.
