SYDNEY: Australia thrash Pakistan by 8 wickets at the Sydney Cricket Ground to claim the series 3-0 as David Warner signed off from Test cricket with a knock of 57 runs off 75 balls.
On the fourth day of the Sydney Test, Pakistan had given Australia a target of 130 runs to win. Earlier, Pakistan lost the Melbourne Test by 79 runs, Pakistan also lost the Perth Test by a huge margin of 360 runs.
Chasing the target, Australia’s first wicket fell to zero, with opener Usman Khawaja falling victim to Sajid Khan and returning to the pavilion.
On the fourth day of match, Pakistan has given the target of 130 runs which was achieved by Australia for the loss of 2 wickets in 25.5 overs.
Earlier, at the start of the fourth day, the Pakistani team was bowled out for 115 runs in 43.1 overs.
In the third Test against Pakistan, Hazlewood took 4 wickets and Nathan Line took 3 wickets.
The star batter Warner ends his career as Australia’s most prolific opener, and the fourth-most successful opener of all-time in terms of runs scored, behind England’s Sir Alastair Cook, India’s Sunil Gavaskar and South Africa’s Graeme Smith.
Warner played 161 one-day internationals and also announced his retirement from that format during this series, but will continue to play T20s.
