Rejecting to issue stay order in the petition filed against the ban imposed on movie Maalik the Lahore High Court directed the federal government to submit its reply.
Petitioner Mehboob Alam told Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza that Mallik is a movie against corruption which will not only entertain to people but will also educate them. The movie is neitet against Islama nor undermines Pakistan’s interests.
He further informed the court that the Censor Board issued the NOC to the movie but after a few days of its exhibition the federal government imposed a ban on the movie. He plead the court to declare the notification null and void and issue stay order allowing exhibition of the movie till the case is decided.
The court rejecting the plea to issue stay order issued notice to the federal ministry of information, the censor board and other correspondents for May 17.
