Euromonitor International releases its annual list of the top 100 cities worldwide, analyzing factors such as tourism infrastructure, sustainability efforts, and economic contributions.
Alongside this comprehensive index, the firm also highlights cities that attract the highest volume of international visitors, showcasing the world’s busiest travel destinations.
In 2025, Asian cities dominated these global rankings, with three out of the top five located in Asia.
Bangkok clinched the coveted number-one position, drawing an impressive 30.3 million international arrivals.
The city also excelled in tourism strategy and overall attractiveness but fell short of making it into the top ten cities in Euromonitor’s overall global index.
Long celebrated by backpackers, Bangkok continues to see an influx of visitors thanks to its buzzing nightlife, world-renowned culinary scene, and flourishing hotel industry.
Charoen Nakhon Road gained recognition this year, securing a spot on the list of the world’s coolest streets and boosting Bangkok’s appeal even further. The phenomenon nicknamed the “White Lotus effect” has also fueled Thailand’s burgeoning tourism sector.
Hong Kong ranked second, welcoming approximately 23.3 million international visitors—nearly three times its population size. It secured 17th place overall in Euromonitor’s global rankings, surpassing London by just one spot.
The British capital ranked third with around 22.7 million tourists, earning the title of Europe’s most-visited city in 2025. Meanwhile, Paris was named the top city globally based on Euromonitor’s overall criteria but placed ninth in terms of international arrivals.
